I know he has gone out of favor with fans, but George Karl said something that always stuck with me about one thing that separates good coaches from bad ones: How they finish games. Because so many games in the NBA come down to execution in the final few minutes of games. Its very hard to be a good team if you aren't really good at coaching at the end of games.
..Though ironic he would say that when one of the complaints from his former players was he didn't do a good job practicing late game situations or having late game out-of-bounds plays.

I'm not trying to defend Gentry, the team's execution down the stretch and out of time outs has been bad a lot since he's been here, but the players blew it down the stretch.
