True, we don't/won't ever know for sure. Initially his message was about equality, but he might have gone over to the special rights side of things eventually.

Well towards his 'end' he was speaking about ending the war quite a bit. He and RFK were both onto that a lot.
He was a great leader though flawed. Stout's stupid post listing some faults is ridiculous. Did he sin? Yes. Have we all? Yes. Did he claim to be perfect? No. He was really brilliant in the way he went about his work...appealing to the Christian side of Southern whites, knowing that was a huge part of their lives...One of the great public speakers ever.
