They were phished. The Russians didn't even have to put forth an effort to get those emails (WHICH PROVED THAT THE DEMS AND THE MEDIA WERE COMPLIANT IN RIGGING THE ELECTION THEMSELVES). It's not like the US isn't trying to do the exact same thing to other countries around the world. The only difference in this case is that the DNC (which is a private organization, and not a US government organization) was stupid enough to fall for it. The Russians phished a non-governmental organization, and released actual, true emails that proved the corruptness of the DNC & the media. Now while them trying to influence the election is bad, it isn't near as bad to the integrity of the election as what they actually discovered and released.

First of all, if you truly think the Trump is a puppet of Russia, your a freaking idiot. Secondly, the CIA, DNC and media colluding to purposely weaken the President of the United States, and to rig the election, is far scarier than another foreign government trying it. And if you can't understand that, then that proves you are a fool.
