I just try not to go into stores where salespeople would likely be commission based unless I'm actually in the market for whatever that store sells. Mainly because I used to work commission sales and the salespeople were on a rotation, so when someone came into the store, whatever salesperson's turn it was greeted them and would try to help and once that customer left, salesperson went to bottom of the rotation again.

Worked at a flooring store years ago and was right next door to an auto repair place. So we'd have women who were waiting on their oil change that would come over and look around just to kill time waiting on their car. It was annoying as hell on days when it was slow and you may have waited 2-3 hours for your turn in the rotation but when its your turn, the customer who comes in isn't shopping, just killing time waiting on their car. But that counted as your turn in the rotation
