Im running Kodi on a FireStick and my bill is like 170/monthly.

What will I miss out on if I add a Hi-def antenna for locals?

You won't miss much. Add a live streaming service like Playstation Vue, Sling, or DirecTV Now(sucks currently) for ~$35/month, if you want live TV from cable networks. Kodi can replace your DVR for most things.

I'm new to this. What will a live streaming do exactly?

Basically the same as watching cable/satellite. Uses your internet to stream instead of the satellite signal. All of those services I mentioned have an app for Fire TV.

Just call DirecTV and tell them you are ready to cancel.

Decline the first offer.

Second offer will be under a 100 a month. If you don't want to hassle take it (should be for two years).

If you don't mind to be without TV for a couple days decline the second offer.

You'll get and email in a day or two for their "big deal" retention offer. Basically it's new customer pricing for two years (google DirecTV big deal for more info).

You'll be under 70 a month which IMO is better than searching Kodi streams.

I use an HD antenna, Netflix, kodi, and watch espn. Everything I need personally and pay about $95/month for internet and Netflix (and about to cut Netflix out due to kodi)

I just signed up for Plastation Vue, cool so far. I think I'm going to suspend my service at Directv and try this out for a while. Savings of 130+

Could someone explain what sucks about DirectTV Now because we were thinking about switching to this. How does it compare to PlayStation vue?

Lots of errors interrupting service, randomly have to log back in to account, History Channel switches to commercial break message in the middle of the show(not synced with actual commercial break). Some days are better than others, but it's definitely not as reliable as Vue yet.
