If we have a meeting on the finances and security of our company, and immediately following the meeting I pull you aside and say, "I have this envelope claiming that youre having sex with the head of marketing",. And you laugh in my face.

That's really not persuasive at all. I actually think there are valid reasons but that damn sure missed the mark.
