This really doesn't mean anything considering that 3 million came in California and New York.
Politically it means something because popular presidents are more capable of moving an agenda than unpopular presidents. I don't suppose you'd argue that a given candidate wouldn't rather win the popular vote big than win it small. Or than one wouldn't rather win it small than lose it.
And California and New York are states just like other states--just much wealthier, more populated, and important to the economy.

I think we both know by now that Trump gives zero fricks about being popular or not. He's going to do what he wants to do and nothing will stop him.

And still millions of wasted votes that came in the wrong places.
