quote:
I'm not saying our line was the best in the country--it probably wasn't--but most folks don't comprehend that they watch their own teams with a much more critical eye than they do any others.
That's exactly what it is.
They did it with Miles amd clock mismanagement. They kept saying how miles is the only one that has done it as frequently as he has, yer sport illustrated just did a huge article about clock mismanagement in the nfl and how often it happens. They even had multiple examples of Bill Belichick having clock management issues.
They do the same thing with our oline.
The only people ive heard say lsu's oline wasnt good is lsu fans.

Look...we can all pat each other on the back and act like things are great or we can talk like reasonable individuals....
LSU's OL had some extremely bright moments.....fact
However, I judge OL by physicality on known rushing downs , redzone scoring when the field shortens, and pass blocking on known passing downs.
I also use those same demographics above and I judge it against the best opposition......
We have 4 losses.....all 4 teams had defenses in the top 25....all 4 teams were held
To less than 20 points in those losses....one didn't even score a TD.....
So it comes to offense and heart is the OL......against the best they executed at level that I don't think should rank them as the best squad in the country.
