At this age I still had all babies in the basinette by me. Maybe I am old school but they are too young to go in a crib bedrooms away even with a monitor. If the crib is near and moms instincts are comfortable. Try self soothing like pats on the butt until fast asleep. The baby should sleep at this age no matter where laid down.

Try rice cereal in a infa feeder.
