Don't presume to speak for me. I don't think Palestinian descendants have near as valid of a right to return claim if their original ancestor is not alive. They all will be dead long before this issue is resolved, if ever.

I'm trying to get you to clarify and speak for yourself.

There are no historical "rights" or entitlement for territories. Whomever controls it calls the shots because they won the most recent war and have the current rights. Don't like it? Don't lose wars. It's not pretty or PC, but it's fact, and it been that way since the beginning of time (I was there).
People don't like it, but this is reality.

I just did, the right of return will be a moot issue before there is ever lasting peace. Palestinians will have no connection with the land in which their ancestors lived before 1948.

And yet you're position is not entirely clear.

Ok.. So when all the land owners from the Arab Israeli wars die there should be no issues then.
False. Because claims to land can be gifted to children.

How many are still alive from the 48 conflict?
Israel uses Eminent Domain to take land every day. these are new claims that cause new problems. As for the land of 1948, See above.

So with no right of return do you then side with Israel?

Forever. But one must demonstrate clear title, which inevitably becomes broken when those with claim to the land stop claiming it and move on with their lives. This is what the state of Israel wants, and what they will get.

I do not approve of the way the Israelis treat the Palestinians (I have 2 working for me - I ve heard their stories), but the outcome of the British Mandate is reality.
The Jewish people got their shite together quickly and defended their newly created country when it was what, 1 day old?

Even though I personally sympathize with Palestinians, I would hope the US stays out of this conflict in the future. I have no love for Palestinian suicide bombers and I have no love for Likud policies that view civilian deaths as collateral damage. I think Americans are naive about our ability to bring any solution to this conflict, despite our sympathies for one side or another.

I agree
Sorry for being a douche earlier.

Do Mexicans have the right of return in Texas, California, Arizona etc from land won during the Mexican - American War
Do Cuban Americans have right of return for land taken from their families by Castro?
Do we give Puerto Rico back to Spain after taking it as a result of the Spanish American War? Certainly there were some Spanish land owners who got screwed with that transaction
Israel won the civil war and has won every armed conflict since then. It is well past time to get over the idea of right of return and start dealing in reality. That reality probably entails a separate Palastinian state, but not necessarily along the lines the Palestinians want

Apology accepted.
I can fully support Isreals expansion within territory seized as a fair and expected result of war, while simultaneously condemning them for creating a humanitarian crises with what they choose to do with that land.
Not exactly the definition of what was it.... a shill I was called? Lol
