Need to get a new phone.....advice.

I currently have a Iphone 6 and have been having problems with it so I am going to get a new one. I am considering the Iphone 7 plus or the samsung galaxy s7. I have been with the iphone since joining the smart phone world. What will be the advantages and disadvantages of switching. Is it hard getting used to the different operating system? Not wanting this to turn into a pissing contest between apple and android peeps, just wanting hear experiences from those who have switched.

My wife just switched from Galaxy to iPhone 7. After 3 days she was fully used to it and loves it. I would imagine it's the same going from Apple to Android.
Consider the pixel as well, mine comes in on Tuesday
Eta: the only thing that really sucked was her music did not transfer from Galaxy to iPhone. Something to do with Apple itunes, idk

Battery Issues. Its crazy I will go days with no problem and then I get a day where I will be at work. Before work I have over 90% at break 3 hours later its at 55% and then 4 hours later at lunch it will be at like 18%. I double and triple check that I have everything closed and have even put it on airplane mode to make damn sure its not searching for a wifi signal. Then it will go days again with no problem.
