i thought he released a top 3 recently with LSU on there...
my question is if we are holding out on offering him bc of akers then i dont get it. we should take clyde, akers, and etienne if possible. i think we can take 26-27 this yr

Bull shite. Akers would bolt with quickness if we offer others. Look at Brennan situation and others. These kids aren't men yet and get their feelings hurt.

If Akers commits we dont need another back this year - that spot will go to a position of need.
If Akers goes to FSU, we will almost certainly look at getting a 2nd RB in the class. Ettiene would be at the top of that list. How else do you figure the kid is taking an official visit in late January if he doesnt even have an offer yet?
We are in a hold pattern until Akers pulls the trigger. This stuff is obvious, I don't know why it has to be re-hashed all the time.

LSU is not on the list because he probably does not have a committable offer. His status depends on what happens with Akers.

Did he have a committable offer in the past then? Did LSU offer but Etienne declined at the time and now LSU no longer has a standing offer to him? Or are you just saying he hasn't been offered? I mean what do you mean by "committable offer" as opposed to a "offer" or is that the same thing?

It means that he likely knows that LSU would love to have him, but if Cam Akers comes to LSU then Etienne will not have an offer anymore or would have to greyshirt. Bama does this every year.
If Akers goes to FSU then Etienne would have a committable offer.
