To expect a newly hired HC (O, Herman, Taggart, etc) to be hired in Nov/Dec and then have a sweeping haul of signees by Feb is unrealistic.
Herman, Taggart, etc, yes, you have a point
but O was hired for continuity in recruiting, he has been the recruiting coordinator for the past 2 years, the kids know him
one of the biggest selling points for O was that he could/would keep this class together
O doesn't really get the same excuses that other coaches coming in would

3 weeks ago it appeared our DC would be poached. Last week we hired our OC/QB coach......
Yet kids should just commit to 4-5 years of their lives to a program where they don't even know their offensive or defensive scheme. Even the best "recruiting gurus" can't sell something that isn't there.....like coordinators and position coaches.
-Also, as of this morning we offfically have recommitment from our 2 QBs......

Have we not? we are now ranked 4 in the country, the ones we lost are now recommitted. The only negative is that we lost Moses and Allen to Bama (which stings a lot) but neither were commits when O took over. I would say he did a great job of keeping this class together.

This x1000
This isn't like, nor was it sold to fans, a typical hire. So we shouldn't expect typical results in recruiting
If we lose recruits. Then we were lied to
If we lose recruits. Then we should have gone with a proven coach

Man it was a miracle. Indeed, a freaking act of God, that Coach O got the three recruits he got this week. His recruiting prowess surely didn't have anything to do with it. It was just a stroke of good luck, that's all.
