Good job, Gray. Don't know why everyone hates Verne other than for thinking he's a 'Bama homer. I for one will miss Verne on Saturdays and especially the early November Saturday night game. You can tell he loved the Bama-LSU matchup each year - ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS UNDER THE LIGHTS IN TIGER STADIUM!!! An announcer is supposed to be unbiased - but he didn't hide the fact that he loved the night games in BR. He mentioned a couple of years ago his wife wanted to attend one game that year that Verne was calling - and she chose the Bama-LSU night game in TS.

Verne is one of the all-time greats. I can assure you that he would not still be calling the Masters if he were not a really good announcer.
