I was watching Cook's Country last night and they reviewed rice cookers. Their pick was the Aroma 8 Cup Digital Rice Cooker and Steamer which sells for just $30. I never felt the need for one before, I cook rice just fine on the stovetop. But for that price I might pick one up and see what all the fuss is about.

I have a rice cooker, never use it. Just another item to take up space. I guess it's good if you need to do a lot (i bought mine for a boudin making session), but otherwise, like you say, stove works just fine.

Had a rice cooker I used for years. Then the ex took it. Now I do rice the ole fashioned way and it's easier and has not turned it too moist/dry yet just using directions on rice bag. Waist of drawer/cabinet space imo
