I don't think they have declined. It's still MH people designing/testing their gear and not the Columbia folks.

I haven't bought any "new" MH stuff in probably 4 years. I did own a post-Columbia tent that was really sloppy though. I know they've had quality control issues with some of their lower priced shells (mainly bizarre fits).
