Mississippi State is the undefeated #1 team in the country.
They lose to a two-loss Alabama team in Tuscaloosa on a lucky play.
Mississippi State doesn't lose again.
Alabama doesn't lose again and wins SEC Championship.
Mississippi State still ranked higher than Alabama at the end of the regular season.
Which team does the committee select.

Would there be other teams in between them that would matter more for the discussion? Or is this the last spot?

What does their schedule look like? Who did Alabama lose to? Need a lot more data.

How is Alabama make the SECCG with 2 losses? Who are their losses to? At least one would have to be OOC. And it would have to have been by 39 if you're trying to make this an Ohio State/Penn State thing.
