I live among millions of them in Brooklyn. They deify and tribalize their politics too much imho, but other than that, they're no crazier, dumber, more unreasonable, less American, etc., than the conservatives I grew up with in Louisiana.

Even if in hyperbole, if you say that an entire branch of political theory is a mental disorder, you're acting like "them."
