What is crazy about Taiwan eventually becoming a U.S. territory and perhaps even a U.S. State at some point in the future? It wasn't long ago the idea of Hawaii as a U.S. state seemed absurd.
Hawaii is a U.S. State for one purpose: Military strategic value.
Taiwan has the same value. And if the Taiwanese ever wanted to at least become a U.S. territory, I'm sure the U.S. would strongly consider it considering how close it would put our military to China as a military counter to China.
Plus, if Taiwan became a territory, we could pull troops from Japan and maybe South Korea. Japan would love us for that. Taiwan would love us for protecting their independence from China. And China and North Korea would think twice about dumbfrickery in that that region.
Nothing but win.

Yeah, because we took it so kindly when the Russians tried to do the same thing to us.
