I can't stand most indie pop bands. I feel like Indie "rock" is just a catch all term for all new rock music that doesn't sound like Nickelback or Metal these days, kinda like how "alternative rock" was for everything that wasn't hair metal in the early 90's.
I've been digging Manchester Orchestra, Menzingers, Arctic Monkeys, Alabama Shakes, ect lately.

my opinion is indie rock as a term is borderline meaningless. Labels are so much less important than they used to be, that it doesn't really matter.
I like music that I like. If they are on a major label, great. Some smaller independent label. great.
