How would you rate the sonos playbar + sub + two play:1s as rears? Worth the money especially since I already have a sound system currently.
Does the 5.1 sound pretty good for movies (which is the only time it really matters)?

If I went with Playbar + Sub + Connect:AMP and then hooked the AMP up to my 4 in ceiling speakers, would that also do the 5.1 sound? Using my 4 ceiling speakers instead of two back play:1s.

I like the idea of the Playbar, Sub and the Play 1s with for surround sound. I personally would only go that route if I didn't have existing speakers and a sub.

To answer your question, it looks like you can configure a Connect Amp for surround:

I'm a sonos fluffer so take that into consideration.

I think they sound great and do not regret my purchase. Movies sound fantastic.

I would read this regarding surround sound tho. Only negative I've found.
