There was a thread showing the matriculation statistics of medical students by race. It was so blatantly obvious that there was a lower standard for black applicants. Even Toddy was outraged by it.

Not just lower....but MUCH lower standards.

I get the argument that we need more doctors to service black neighborhoods, but why exactly do we accept students that are not prepared or have a much greater chance of burning out and wasting their slot?

When I was in college, I was having an discussion/argument with this girl about affirmative action quotas for med school. She was all for the quotas and even went as far as saying it was OK since they'll just be general doctors and not go into specialist fields. She was ok with having qualified white males get passed up for med school selection.
Now the worst part. I was arguing due to fact that my good friend had been passed up 2 years but on his 3rd year he got into med school. The kicker was the guy WAS her fiancé.
