I think he had too much pride throughout the entire season. Why on earth did he have to release a letter during the season telling the fanbase "This is what I'm looking for in our next HC" or the fact that he said "I'm the only person who's making this decision". We didn't need to hear that nonsense. Just keep your mouth shut and do the work needed to bring home the guy you REALLY wanted.
