My wife thinks I have sleep apnea. She wants me to fo a sleep study. What does that typically require?

you go to sleep with about 30 wires connected to you and they try to simulate the conditions you are used to when you go to bed

Bring your own sleeping pills. Hospitals won't give you shite anymore due to liability concerns.

If you are planning on buying/increasing life insurance, do it before you do the sleep study. If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea, you are dicked on life insurance.

Others have talked about going to a place to have it done...but I did mine at home. Very easy. Just a couple of things to hook up that were very unobtrusive. You wake up the next morning and take all the stuff to the doctor. 2 weeks later they schedule an appointment and tell you the results.
