Don't blame Johnny Jones. Blame Alleva.

Johnny Jones never had any business coaching a power 5 basketball program. This isn't even his fault, it's Alleva's fault for putting him in this position.

I blame CTII, Clarence Ceasar, and the rest of the Dale Brown Mafia.

It's pretty well known Collis temple and a few big basketball alums forced the hand on Johnny
Jones isn't the answer, but we got him cheap as frick anyway. his buyout is nothing, though I think he stays after how much changing football coaches will cost

In fairness, the timing of Trent Johnson's departure to TCU limited the options for coach replacement.
This gave the political machine ammo to get Johnny Jones into the program.

Agreed. We knew exactly what we were getting in Jones. Can't be too mad at him. We was and always will be a mediocre coach

The university is succumbing with the rest of the state. Louisiana can't get out of its way. As the state suffers to compete, so will its institutions. LSU included. Dark days ahead.

Right, but the biggest mistake was Trent Johnson.. should have just gotten the Johnny Jones disaster over with at that point (a Dale Brown disciple was going to get the job eventually at some point)

My guess is if Alleva was given a blank check, then everyone stepped out of his way, he would have come up with something better than Johnny. Until that happens and the admins place a priority on basketball, you'll get more of the same.
