There are posters on here who can answer this very in-depth with much history, etc., etc., etc.
The long and the short of it is that they're our only ally in the ME. They share many of the same values as Americans. Strategically it's a no-brainer to maintain a very healthy relationship with Israel. Intelligence alone via cooperation with Mossad is reason enough.
