I miss topography. Houston is flat, nothingness. I have not found a good place to go outside near Houston within an easy drive. Lake Conroe and Lake Livingston are pretty long drives and Galveston is a dump. I hate that place. There are no hills here and it's fricking November 16 and 85 miserable fricking degrees.

Austin is better in terms of topography, but then I'd have to live in Austin along with 50 million expatriated Californians and all the nonsense that comes with nearly every part of that city gentrifying. If I could make a living in hill country, I wouldn't mind living in Texas, but if I'm going to move to hill country, frick it I'm moving to Boise or the Fayetteville area or Asheville or Richmond or really anywhere but BFE Texas.

And I'm not living in San Antonio. May as well be North Mexico.
