I'll take the economy of Texas over the economy of California any day of the week. Never mind the fact that if California did leave many companies would leave California to stay in the U.S., just like many companies will probably leave the U.K. to stay in an EU nation.

Last time I checked places in the south like Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, Charlotte and Miami have pretty good economies. Even in the midwest places like Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Cincinnati and Louisville have pretty good economies. Sure losing California would hurt a lot but I don't think it would be the death sentence to the U.S. that you all want to believe it would be.
