I almost got caught up in it as a broke kid trying to get money to get back in college.

They find you through people you trust. Those people have bought in so much that it's hard to see how fake it all is

They do a lot of mental gymnastics to convince you that they aren't a pyramid scheme and that this is all legit and that they are helping people

I went to a "meeting" and they set you up so that new members when like 100 dollars or some other similar prize and it really is like a cult. Everyone is just chanting and raving and they get local celebrities too to legitimize it, like I think it was an LSU kicker that was their big celebrity endorser

They all tell you about trips they won and money they made and how they are really close to quitting their jobs so they can do it full time

It's really convincing while you're in the moment. My instinct told me something wasn't right. Mine was like about selling insurance packages to people or something but the set up was the same
