a fire doesn't have to burn hot enough to melt steel to cause a steel framed building to collapse
fireproofing doesn't really make a building "fire proof". It just protects the steel long enough to hopefully allow firefighters to put the fire out and/or everyone evacuate to safety.

Similar to some plant workers thinking FRC's are fireproof.
