I judge a Vet by what he or she does for other Vets once they get out of the service, so, he's a good guy in my book.
I've never thought very much of ex-servicemembers that talk and reminisce as though their life story was all about what they did and how great they were. I'm more impressed by the quiet professions who provide selfless service and continue to help fellow Vets once they get out of the service.
So, IMHO, Mr. Luttrel is a great person.

I did not serve. They veterans I know are Vietnam era. The ones that were in combat didn't talk about it. One guy I worked with back then would say he was there, he played in a band. OK cool - but I knew guys that would jump out of their skins with the slightest noise.
