The New Orleans Saints signed former LSU linebacker Lamar Louis to the practice squad on Tuesday.
Louis, a native of Breaux Bridge, had a recent workout with the Saints and posted his excitement about the signing on Instagram.
The 5-foot-11, 232-pound Louis went undrafted this year, but made the Arizona Cardinals' 53-man roster following the preseason. After just one game, though, he went on injured reserve (knee) and then was waived with an injury settlement.
Louis is the only former LSU player with the Saints, though they don't have any on the 53-man roster. Cornerback Delvin Breaux received a scholarship from the Tigers, but never played.
To make room on the practice squad, the Saints terminated the contract of former Tulane defensive end Royce LaFrance, according to Tuesday's NFL Transactions report.
LaFrance, who participated in May's rookie minicamp and a June minicamp, joined the Saints practice squad on Oct. 18.
