Here is what everyone screaming draft a defensive player fails to realize. A good/great running back can be a defense's best friend by helping to win the time of possession battle. A good/great back will take so much pressure off of Brees to be perfect every game. This was the exact same formula that lead the team to their best seasons under Payton ('06, '09, '11). We just saw this formula work Sunday against Seattle. The team dominated in time of possession limiting the snaps the defense had to play. In return, they only allowed 13 points (7 came on Earl Thomas fumble return) If not for Ingram's fumble & several redzone/goal line mishaps (questionable play calling), that game wouldn't have been close.

I like Cook. But he is no Fournette.
