My dad transferred from Lakefront Airport to the Moisant Stock Yards in 1961 and retired in 2002.
It has always been - and will always be - a vehicle for the repayment of political patronage.
Can any old time New Orleanians, from their own recollection, give me a one year period in their lifetime when one facet of the airport wasn't under major construction - terminal, runway, parking facilities, roadways, baggage claim, etc?

The airport is located in both Jefferson Parish and St. Charles Parish and is governed by the NOAB, which is a branch of the executive office of the City of New Orleans.
I want to see MSY thrive, and it is to an extent, but I feel it could be better without so much typical S. Louisiana "influence".
