LHR just received approval to build a new runway, and if anyone thinks adding a runway at MSY is impossible then their opinion is suspect. Not that MSY really needs another runway anyway. SAN only has one runway that's shorter than MSY's longest and it still manages 20 million pax somehow. In the future things are only going to get more manageable. The 787 is a game changer for long haul flights.
