Stay away from the epiphones. Spend that extra money on a used Gibson. You'll regret buying an epi down the road when you're trying to get rid of it and the resale value has not held at all.

The last thing I'm worried about on a $300 guitar is resale value.
More to Stache's point, I'm more concerned about how much more I'll have to put into it.
I think I've decided not to get it. I appreciate everybody's input.
