Beijing: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, try out the subway, try local cuisine like 'hot pot', sea cucumber, jelly fish, etc. Hiring a tour guide at the touristy spots was cheap (200 yen ~ $30 or $40)

I plan on doing all of this on my first day.

I will say I did not like Beijing as much as Chengdu.

Why is that? I haven't seen much to do in Chengdu besides the Panda sanctuarys.

I went to Gyeongbok palace and Insaedong St, had bolgogi for lunch, bought a ton of souvenirs, and had a great time

Think this is what I'm looking forward to the most. The pictures I've seen of Gyeongbok palace are amazing.
