Perfect responses - thanks for the info. I've roughed out a schedule for us, we are a family of 4 with boys ages 7&9. We are taking the red eye from BWI on Sunday night and arriving at KEF at 5:30 a.m. Here is what I'm thinking:

Monday - We are going to stay in Reykjanesbaer in a B&B near the airport right off of the water. See the sights there. I don't know what our jet lag situation is going to be be so I would rather take it easy, go to Viking world, a few geo thermal pools and maybe even the Blue Lagoon this day.

Tuesday - head to Reykavik and spend all day touring the city.

Wednesday - drive the golden circle. Maybe spin off to Vik and stay there on Wednesday night.

Thursday - finish driving and head back to Reykavik

Friday - leave the morning open for anything we missed in Reykavik and then fly out at 3:00.

Some time to decide but definitely want to have everything booked by Christmas.

Thanks!! Much appreciated.
