So they had a rebuild and came out better

So you take the early part of the 2000's yet completely dismiss the last part which they played in 2 BCS games, 2 NYD games before everyone did and an Alamo Bowl game

Penn St is much more of CFB name than LSU in this country.
I'm not a Nittany Lion fan at all but to say they're not elite is like saying SC didn't win back to back NC

If you're judging "eliteness" you have to take more than just a couple years but even if you want to start at '05 they had fallen off since then.

Miami and Texas are more of a name in CFB than both but they ain't elite anymore either.

Is their brand elite and is their program elite are two different things.
