You realize he's the line judge, right? His right foot had marked "where the play ended." There was only one reason to look behind him...care to guess?

Yep...to find the marker. NOT the the yellow line you dolt, the actual marker.

Otherwise, the entire thing could have been done without the need of looking backwards.
