I saw where someone asked if they dreamed in the last episode - and it was answered that they give the concept of dreams (nightmares) created just in case someone forgets to wipe them out at the end of a maintenance session. We do definitively know some things. You just don't want that to be the case because it limits your ability to posit all sorts of absurd theories. That's the problem with shows like this. They spawn online fans who just do not want to pay attention to reason or what is clearly being stated in the show because it hurts their silly fan-theory of unicorns and rainbows.
