I don't think so. I think what it means is that he understands the impact of luck, and thus places extreme value on making good decisions - i.e. having high quality "inputs", as the output is going to be subject to the effects of luck.

This is to be contrasted with Miles (at least back in the "Mad Hatter" days) when he was always shooting from the hip and doing cowboy type of stuff. Sure, you might have luck coincide with those particular decisions and get some good results (despite poor decision-making.) But, as they say - when the tide goes out, you find out who is actually wearing a bikini.

Saban has always been underrated as far as calling WTF plays.

Anyone remember the fake punt pass thing he called against Texas? That shite was nuts
