Whose gonna have the balls to bet on the Thursday night game?
Posted on 9/19/16 at 10:27 pm to wildtigercat93
Not I. The under would be the only play I'd consider. Maybe player props

texans are gonna destroy the pats. When the hell was the last time the pats were home dogs? The texans are clicking this year, a 3rd string qb isnt about to beat them brissett looked terrible in the 2nd half he almost blew a 24 point lead yesterday.

Brissett looked pretty solid actually. He was just running a very limited playbook and was taking the safe route every play
He lead them on two scoring drives that half (one missed Gostowski chip shot) and had some other ones wiped out by penalty
That lead evaporated because they couldn't run their offense on such short notice, and the defense went into prevent mode trying to shorten the game and get out of it
ETA I wouldn't want to be the guy that bet against a home dog Belicheck team

Wk 1 was a nice reminder not to mess with the Lloyd be the pAts and the points, if anything. Not touching the Texans

Bills are looking like the big play of the week so far.

The Bills feel like that sexy contrarian pick this week, that everyone thinks they're so sly for jumping on when everyone is down on Buffalo, that flops big. There's big problems in Buffalo on and off the field and Rex is flat out a terrible coach.

Some big early week bets on the Bills, moving that line down. Pats catching steam, back to pk.

What about Cincy? I recall reading it somewhere 6 months ago that there was an undefeated system of betting against the super bowl winners the following year.
Something along that the defending champs will lose or not cover one of the 1st 3 games of the season. Since Denver has won and covered the 1st 2 game, the play should be on Cincy M/L.

Texans are now a pick em, I really cant see the patriots beating them. This texans team is loaded, lots of talent on both sides of the ball and osweiler won at new england last year didnt he? I dont know how texans is not the play.Clowney,Wilfork,Watt,Mercilus will be all over this 3rd string QB

Here's some info i was able to dig up. I only could go back to 2002 with ESPN history of score. I'm not sure what the point spreads were in the past, but we can assume that as Super bowl champs, these teams should be favorites in most situations. Only in rare situations where there's a change in QB, the point spreads may not be significant i.e, Denver this year.
2015
NE as champions. Opened the season vs Pitt at Home. I can recall the line for this game around 6.5-7.5. But NE won the game by 7. Hard to make of it.
2014 Seattle as champs. Lost to SD wk 2.
2013
Baltimore as champs. Lost to Denver wk 1.
2012
NYG. Lost to Cowboys wk1.
2011
GB. Won by 7 week 2 vs Carolina. I can't remember this spread. But it was Cam Newton 1st season as #1 overall pick. So I guess the spread would be pretty high. Can anyone confirm this?
2010
Saints. Lost to Falcons wk 3.
2009
Pit. Lost to Bears wk 2.
2008
NYG. Won by 3 at home vs Cincy. I assume this is not a cover for NYG since they were 2-0 going into the game and Cincy was 0-2.
2007
Indy, won by 2 at Tennessee wk 2. Indy must've been a bigger favorite with a young Peyton Manning.
2006
Pit. Lost to Jax wk1
2005
NE, lost to Caroling wk 1
2004
NE, won by 3 at home vs Peyton. Need someone to find out spread for this game.
2003
Oak, lost to Tennessee wk1
2002
NE, won by 3 vs KC in foxboro. NE was 2-0, KC 1-1.
