At the very least he is a whistle blower that isn't getting treated like it because he exposed the government. He's more of a hero than the loser that is in charge right now.

Anyone who risks his life and surrenders all he has to expose our corrupt federal government and our corrupt media, who carries their water at our expense, is a hero.
He's not a perfect and flawless human being but he is a hero in the truest sense of the word.
I would rather stand with Edward Snowden than three-fourths of the politicians in washington.

He exposed the massive illegal actions taken by the government both foreign and domestic. He knew that he could possibly face an unfair trial if he got caught, but decided to shine light on the problem anyway.
Now the government is trying to spin it in their favor which is incredibly pathetic.
