My Wife's grandfather got an identical pistol and holster the exact same way. Her Dad has it now and I keep trying to get her to lean on him a little about leaving it to our Son. (He is old fashioned and wants to leave it to his Son that has little appreciation for guns).
My most treasured inherited guns are my Dads custom built .35 Whelen on a M98 action and my Grandfather's A5 16 gauge.
