Then why isn't auburn ranked? They took the #2 team to the brink. Shouldn't they be ranked if we're completely basing these off one game

Why are those overreactions? We have one game to go off. Let's rank based on that one game

I see your point, but most will probably agree that the outcome of the game was due to LSU not playing like a top 10. A vastly overranked team shouldn't automatically make an opponent vastly underranked.

But the only reason why Wisconsin and Texas are ranked so high is because of the perceived notion of the teams they beat

I won't disagree with this....A & M should be top 5............

Washington took care of business. I didn't expect them to cover and they did.

I didn't watch the game but just the box score. It will be interesting how that defense hold up against spread teams.

I'm surprised how high we jumped after beating an awful Charlotte team. Assuming we take care of business against Syracuse, the FSU game will be massive

The defense last year was better against Pac-12 spread teams than pro-style teams. Cal (30) and ASU (27) scored the most points, but the UW offense turned the ball over 9 times in those two games. As far as spread teams, Oregon probably had the best game offensively when you guys scored 26 and that was your season low outside of the Utah debacle. Stanford and Utah were probably the 2 offenses that gave our defense the most trouble last year.

UW was running with a lot of the 2's in the 2nd quarter against Rutgers and the 2nd half was almost entirely backups and walk-ons. The game was essentially over after 1 quarter when UW was up 24-0 and had outgained Rutgers something like 247 to 10. They pretty much shut down the offense and coasted after that.

Your defense is totally different. You moved a DE out to LB and added a ton of weight to the front. It's going to change your identity. Like I said, I am curious to see how it hold up.

The defense is the exact same as last year. They just decided to list it differently on the depth chart, but the depth chart is completely meaningless. The depth chart shows a 4-3, but we're still running the 3-4 with the BUCK LBer (Mathis). It lists Vita Vea as a DE, but he rotated with Gaines and Qualls at DT the whole game. I don't think they were all 3 on the field at the same time once except for maybe a 3rd and short or something.

Who were you playing at DE?

Bowman and Turpin. Jaylen Johnson is injured, but he'll likely start there when he's healthy.

I was curious to see if they were going to run out a starting DL of Qualls, Vea, and Gaines, but I remember looking at that on the first play and Vea was not in there.
