Any good manager would know to keep internal affairs internal. The leaked public information and Alleva's refusal to give any statement supporting his staff in the face of reports directly from members of the Board was absolutely amateurish. A good CEO knows how to put a lid on this kind of management shake-up until all the cards are in place.

I roasted Alleva for both this and the embarrassment that was the Chavis lawsuit. The man seems to have no understanding of PR.

Still, fair is fair, I didn't see this coming. A good manager can change course when he realizes something isn't working. The undermining of Miles has seemingly stopped, and been replaced with necessary support and clear expectations. I've said it before, in modern CFB you either have to support your coach 100% or fire him, you don't tip toe into #1 recruiting classes and championships. Part of Joe's job is to convey that to boosters and other administrators, and on the surface it seems like he's done that. I think his comments are pointed mostly at himself, he has certainly had an attitude adjustment since November and the program is better for it.
