I wholeheartedly agree with the latter half of your statement, but the attorney himself said $100k to $300k was a typical type of award. I understand he is playing the game but there is no denying $1MM is outrageous.

Wonder if the jury looked up normal awards for this type case & when finding out $100-$300k, thought plaintiff being greedy and realized the $ would be coming from tax payers.
Doesn't make it right , just plausible
