Zach Braff Returning to TV

For those of you that are fans of the show Scrubs, like me...Zach Braff has a new show that was picked up by ABC for a Put Pilot (basically an agreement that the show will be picked up for series) with ABC and is joining with Scrubs EP Matt Tarses. He'll star and direct.
I find this to be awesome because if Braff can be half as funny as he was with Scrubs this show should be good.

I don't think he'll be funny. He sort of took himself too seriously with Garden State. While a decent movie with a superb soundtrack, his character in Garden State was rather pathetic. I'm not sure I will view him as "funny" again.

quote:I don't know about this. Sounds like he's gonna be playing basically the same character from Wish I Was Here--socially awkward, kinda wimpy guy with a family, including a hot wife way out of his league, chasing a dream on a whim and struggling with finances while moping, having sudden fits of dance or humor, and generally doing Zach Braff stuff.
Start Up is based on the podcast Start Up by Alex Blumberg. It is a show about all the things that happen — the good, the bad and the ugly — when a guy (Braff) in his mid-30s with a wife and two kids makes the crazy decision to quit his good job and dive into the brave new world of starting a business.
Didn't enjoy the movie and I don't know if this will work either, especially without Turk or Dr. Cox.

If he stays away from the forced indie quirkiness he'll be okay. His indie movies are the worst checklist independent films ever.

Agreed. Straight up paint-by-numbers shite.

I have always been disappointed that Zach Braff as Fletch never came to fruition. I feel that he would have been perfect for the role provided a worthy script could be written.

More upset over missing out on the Jason Lee Fletch that never came to be.
