Actually, if you read why the death penalty doesn't work, you will actually see that this idea won't work either.
Add to the fact that these extreme penalties will make policing more dangerous because these criminals who don't believe they will be caught are going to be caught and then they have nothing to lose by shooting it out.
These are genius ideas guys.
Add to that the fact that the death penalty as it is now is not perfect and costs more than life in prison and we are just hitting balls out of the park. Great idea.
I think we need to bring some of you in on budget discussions about reducing the deficit.

Good thing for that piece of paper thingy called the Constitution that protects things like due process and cruel\unusual punishment from the government.
